Before Google ever popped up on the grid us users had a veritable horn of plenty for search engine choices. There was Yahoo, Excite, Lycos, Ask Jeeves, etc. Once Google appeared on the map, the battle over search engine supremacy all but ended. Over the years the original titans of search have faded into the background. I see now that excite.com shows ads from google. Have they given up completely? Or maybe I just missed another Google aquisition in the business world. Regardless, this post leads me to poll the readers…
